Bookkeeper / Insurance Billing Coordinator

We are currently accepting applications for a Bookkeeper / Insurance Billing Coordinator within our long-term care and rehabilitation facility specializing in geriatrics.

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. This position will work closely with residents, families, insurance providers, and facility leadership to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Qualifications

1+ year of billing experience in a long-term care setting preferred
Experience billing Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance providers preferred
Similar billing or healthcare experience may also be considered
Good understanding of accounting principles and procedures
Ability to work with residents and families regarding billing questions, issues, and discrepancies
Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Must pass a background check and drug screen

Essential Job Functions

Prepare, review, issue, collect, and reconcile monthly billings
Assist residents and families with billing questions and discrepancies
Work with Medicare, Medicaid, insurance providers, and other payor sources as needed
Maintain accurate billing and financial records
Utilize accounting principles and procedures to ensure billing accuracy
Prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines and department objectives
Communicate professionally with residents, families, insurance providers, and facility staff
