Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Adjunct faculty members’ primary responsibility will be teaching and mentoring capstone students. Faculty must demonstrate a commitment to actively support the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment. Walden faculty must have a commitment to fostering Walden’s Community of Care. - Student-centered engagement and support — Faculty are expected to communicate regularly, provide timely guidance, support students individually, and connect them with appropriate resources. - Academic expertise and quality feedback — Faculty should demonstrate strong knowledge of university systems, policies, research processes, rubrics, and program expectations while giving constructive, detailed feedback. - Empathy balanced with accountability — Faculty should meet students where they are, show flexibility when appropriate, and still uphold academic standards that support timely, high-quality doctoral completion. Based on student enrollment, Adjunct Faculty may be invited to instruct content courses or research methodology courses, which they are credentialed to teach. Participation in Mentor Training will be provided and required.
