A respected healthcare facility in Fargo, North Dakota is seeking a Locums Urology Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient, inpatient, and surgical urology services. This full-time weekday opportunity offers a predictable schedule with no call, weekends, or federal holiday responsibilities, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.
Position Highlights
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: 80 hours per pay period
Setting: Outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and operating room
Call: None
Weekends: None
Federal Holidays: None
Clinical Responsibilities
Approximately 90% of the physician's time will be dedicated to direct patient care.
Responsibilities include:
Evaluate and treat patients in the outpatient urology clinic
Perform inpatient consultations and daily hospital rounds
Coordinate specialty referrals when appropriate
Perform a broad range of diagnostic and surgical urologic procedures
Provide comprehensive general urologic care
Deliver discharge education and coordinate follow-up care
Complete specialty examinations related to urologic conditions, including Compensation & Pension and Agent Orange evaluations when applicable
Follow all established medication and documentation policies
Procedures
The physician should be comfortable performing a broad range of urologic procedures, including:
Cystoscopies
Vasectomies
Scrotal surgeries
Ureteroscopies
Transurethral procedures for prostate disease and bladder cancer
Endoscopic urologic procedures
Kidney, bladder, ureter, urethral, prostate, penile, scrotal, and testicular surgeries
Incision and drainage of prostatic abscesses
Major abdominal and lymphatic procedures related to urology
Experience using:
Holmium laser
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)
Fluoroscopy
Robotic surgery certification is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Completion of an ACGME-approved Urology residency with at least three years devoted to urologic surgery
Board Certified in Urology
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
Active North Dakota medical license
Current DEA registration
National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Annual Office of Inspector General (OIG) Statement required
