OFFICE TECHNICIAN (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) –  CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / SAN JOAQUIN SECTOR / MILLERTON LAKE SRA

The reporting location for this position is Millerton Lake SRA in Friant, CA. This position will work under general direction of the State Park Superintendent III.   

The Office Technician (OT) will provide typing, dictation and transcription services for sector staff; conduct mail and document handling; complete filing and records management; document preparation and review; composition of correspondence; oral communications; statistical and other record keeping; cashiering and change fund custodian; and ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment. The OT will assist with processing and filing of confidential reports and records; assist in entering work orders and service records into facility lifespan databases; complete revenue accountability and auditing, collect fees, collect revenue for deposit, and assist with coordinating the visitor services function at unit kiosks and museums; provide instruction to seasonal staff. The incumbent will interact with visitors at the front counter and lobby of the sector office; answer  questions, sell passes, confirm reservations, explain rules and posted orders, field complaints and provide clarification; interact with stakeholders, visitors and customers in person, via email, form letter, and phone; provide accurate and timely information. The incumbent will  disseminate information accordingly and send messages to sector staff.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Working Conditions

Typically reporting to sector office as primary workstation. May report to a field location to assist staff with inventory, training, troubleshooting system malfunctions.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. • The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

Experience in customer service and experience with operating point-of-sale systems, and experience in handling cash and making change.
