JOB DESCRIPTION: Bartender

REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager

SUMMARY: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food to residents and guests in the restaurant bar area. This role requires a high level of customer interaction, attention to detail, and adherence to health and safety standards. Bartenders must maintain a clean and organized bar, manage inventory, and collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Seasonal Part Time -$13 per hour plus  gratuities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Great and interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
• Take beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standardized recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock bar supplies as needed.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food delivery to bar guests.
• Set up and break down the bar area before and after service.
• Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs., including bus tubs and dishware.
• Works well with all departments and team members.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina for walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout shift.
• Manual dexterity for handling cleaning tasks and restocking.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and food allergens. 
• Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. 

Knowledge and Skills 

• Strong understanding of mixology, drink recipes, and beverage presentation.
• Familiarity with food handling procedures and sanitation standards. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic retail math for pricing, discounts, and tip calculations.
• Proficiency in operating POS systems and handling transactions.
• Knowledge of alcohol safety and responsible service practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy throughout the shift.
• Ability to interact professionally with guests, team members, and management.

Physical Demands 

• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. (e.g., kegs, cases, bar supplies)
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout shift.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for handling glassware, tools, and garnishes. 

Work Environment / Conditions

• Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and high energy demands
• Regular interaction with guests and team members 
• Noise levels may be high during peak hours
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
