Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest
• Provide attentive, knowledgeable, and professional table service
• Maintain strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and daily menu offerings
• Clearly communicate menu items, ingredients, preparations, and specials
• Make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences
• Demonstrate confidence and knowledge when discussing wine and beverage selections
• Execute proper service standards throughout the guest experience
• Accurately enter orders and process payments using Toast or similar POS systems
• Serve alcohol responsibly and in accordance with California law
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service environment
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, hosts, managers, and fellow servers
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth service
• Participate in ongoing training, menu tastings, and product knowledge education
• Attend regularly scheduled staff and training meetings
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to HiPPO's dress code and service standards

• General Manager
• Floor Lead / Restaurant Leadership & Ownership

Skills & Experience

• 2–3 years of serving experience in a high-volume, upscale casual, or fine-dining restaurant preferred
• Strong knowledge and interest in food, wine, and hospitality
• Wine knowledge or experience in a wine-focused restaurant is a plus
• Experience with Toast or similar POS systems
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to confidently engage with and guide guests
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Positive, professional, and hospitality-driven attitude
• Reliable and punctual
• Willingness to learn and continuously develop product knowledge
• California Food Handler Certificate
• RBS Certification
