Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare welding equipment and materials for each assignment
- Perform FCAW 3G (downhill progression) and 4G (overhead) structural welds with precision and consistency
- Interpret blueprints and work orders to execute projects to exact specifications
- Bind and weld structural metal components with strong, cosmetic welds that minimize the need for rework
- Inspect and finish welds, removing slag and splatter for optimal results with tools such as grinders and chipping hammers
- Conduct gouging tasks as needed to ensure seam integrity or alter components
- Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and quality policies
- Maintain punctual attendance and participate in overtime as required
- Support team operations with additional duties as assigned by management
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 12 months of hands-on FCAW 3G/4G structural welding experience
- Demonstrated ability to pass a hands-on FCAW 3G/4G structural welding test (3G downhill progression, 4G overhead)
- Proficiency with structural welding techniques and related equipment
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Solid understanding of welding safety standards and best practices
Preferred Skills
- Experience minimizing weld rework and ensuring weld quality
- Familiarity with a range of finishing and gouging tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
