Job Description

Urban Outfitters is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer. The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of the visual identity for the Urban Outfitters brand. This includes executing the creative vision of the Art and Creative Directors across all facets of the UO brand. This position requires a collaborative, curious, and innovative designer with a hands-on approach to supporting multiple creative projects. This position will be based in Philadelphia, PA and going into the office on a hybrid schedule.

Role Responsibilities

  • Execute & Innovate: Drive creative innovation and execute print techniques aligned with the UO aesthetic lens.
  • Production & Prep: Focus heavily on file preparation, mock-ups, tech packs, informational details, and creating compelling presentations for assignments.
  • Market Research: Research competitors and gather inspiration, clearly communicating design intent while offering diverse production solutions.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay mindful of current design trends and concepts, actively seeking opportunities to help expand the UO design point of view.
  • Brand Stewardship: Help maintain brand standards, organization, and visual cohesion across all assets.
  • Project Management: Communicate project statuses clearly and manage shifting priorities effectively.
  • File Maintenance: Preflight, collect, upload, and download project assets while organizing files in a clean, highly usable manner.

Role Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, and Google Workspace.
  • Production Knowledge: Strong understanding of print, prepress production, and file preparation.
  • Design Eye: A keen eye for typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a highly collaborative mindset, and strong professional etiquette.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to problem-solve, adapt quickly, and effectively follow art direction.
  • Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously across shifting seasonal deadlines.
