Job Summary (List Format):


- Position: Part-time School-Based Physical Therapist (3 days/week, 22.5 hours/week, through May 2027)
- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred for services.
- Develop and implement therapy goals aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students in a school setting.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and outcomes.
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings to contribute to goal development and report on student progress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, administrators, occupational and speech therapists, and families.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and mobility supports to enhance student participation and independence.
- Train school staff on safe transfers, mobility, positioning, and the use of adaptive equipment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education laws and procedures.
- Support student inclusion in classroom, school, and extracurricular activities.
- Typical duties include evaluating motor development, creating therapy plans, consulting on classroom accessibility, documenting services, and recommending appropriate equipment.
- Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy, Texas PT license, preferred experience in pediatric or educational settings, and strong communication and organizational skills.
- Preferred skills: Pediatric therapy experience, knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology, teamwork, assessment, progress-monitoring, and family engagement abilities.
